Folks,

We are off to look at a new car this morning. Can someone let me know a rough trade in value for my wife's current car? The spec is:

2006 "06" 530D M Sport saloon
Black with Black leather
2 owners
Satnav
78000 miles
Full BMW s/h (last serviced on Monday)

It's got PDC, Bluetooth phone etc, but I think these are part of the standard kit.

Any input would be gratefully received!

Cheers

Alex

I`d think £11,500-£13,000 depending on condition etc etc.

10k if it's nice, that's 12995 retail and will allow the dealer out at 11995 if he needs to.

You might see a very little bit more than that but it's a saloon with mileage starting to look quite high.

Mine was just a guess, I`d have thought it was worth more than £10,000 though........Will make a cracking used buy at £12-13,000 surely?

Tecently traded a full spec E60 Oct 2003 530dSE Auto with 108k miles for £5k! I'd guess no more than £10 as well at the present time, but DOES depend what you're trading for of course.

The market for an 80,000 mile saloon is going to be a bit limited; it also needs to be cheap enough that the lower mileage cars at 14 and 15 don't dissuade a buyer. 60k and 80k to a buyer are (psychologically) miles apart.

I've assumed the OP's car is an auto, incidentally.

BMWs are not exactly selling well at the moment due to the early snow we have had, meaning any BMW being traded in will usually be priced below bottom book.

Dont get hung up on the trade in - it is the cost to change that matters. No point getting excited by a good trade in price if you are paying over the odds for the new car....
