My cars previous owner had and AMD remap done through Audi back in 2006 and I believe it is now running around 246bhp. However I'm thinking of upgrading to a Sports Cat and having an AMD stage 2 installed.

If I go ahead with it, Mike Stokes near me in Bournemouth will fit a Sports Cat for £350 and a full system for about that again. Is this a good price, and can anyone comment on their work?

I got my custom exhaust there.
I've had no problems with it, although it is a little too loud for my liking!

Wasn't really a fan of AMD maps when I had my audi. I've heard they are a bit generic. Try MRC in Banbury. These guys really know their stuff and don't do generic.

Not a fan of AMD either, however as Stage 1 is already done it is only a £120 top-up to stage 2. As apposed to the £450+ of starting again with someone like Revo! (who is my preferred option)

Thanks for the info. I understand that they fit the system and if you want to adjust it either way after you can just pop back in and have a silencer added or removed.. Try before you buy kinda thing! You should pop back in....

Dose it 'drone' on the motorway?

Why?

Had Revo on my last A4 190 1.8T and it was stunning. A little aggressive compared to other maps but this was to my liking?

The maps from Revo are only designed to get power and torque figures. There is no consideration for progression or smooth boosting. Not sure they even remap the gearbox when doing the engines.

I have used them a couple of times to fit custom bits for me and they have always been helpful and the quality is good.

Oh, I would be interested to here more? I guess every garage will have good and bad reviews.. Any other options locally?

Had Mike Stokes weld some modifications to the inlet of a new silencer, weld on a neater mounting point and fit it to my Caterham. Very happy with the quality of their work and very reasonably priced.

I had a replacement cat made up there a couple of years ago and was very happy with the quality and price involved. Recommended.
