Correct me if im wrong but doesnt a TDCI run on the fuel of saton? (diesel). The calibra turbo engine runs on proper fuel, petrol hehe

Indeed, But being a turbodisiesel means it is relatively easy to chip to silly boost levels without doing much else.

Saton's [sic] fuel aside, I bet that tdci transit has a bit of thump unladen, and white vans are usually right on your bumper as it is!

One of the other questions his response states that the van can almost keep up with his brothers evo FQ300?

I think you'll find that a Lotus Carlton engine will produce somewhere in the region of 375 BHP off the shelf!

Oh yeah, then you'll need a management system to run it, (I have little idea about them, but the standard stuff is fairly specialised!), and a drivetrain to fit or made to fit it and cope with the monumental torque too.

Like your thinking though!! thumbup

A mate used to rally an old Victor and one of the mechanics had a Bedford CF (remember them?) with a Rover V8 - rolling road'ed @ 304bhp and a Jag IRS.
Completely standard looking in an oxidised red, apart from twin pipes.
Had a go in it and even with the auto 'box, it was scary.

Wow, >300bhp at the wheels is a remarkable output for a rover v8! Was it NA?

I've seen V8 powered VW Transporters before, including one with the 414bhp engine out of a B7 RS4.

A friend off mine went to go view the transit with 2K in pocket. The owner wouldnt take it.

My friend had ago in transit and said its a fun thing too drive and does go well.
The owner is a bit of a guru with conversions and has a T5 powered golf as well.

doubt it. saxo vtr with lowered suspension and a cone air filter will be wicked fast! saw one keeping up with an R8. then he over took it. the R8 was turning off the main road. but still.... proper car.
