My drivers door mirror has come loose. I've got a copy of the bible and from the looks of it, it is the grub screw which needs tightening but I can't even see it!! I'm trying the other suggestion of unscrewing the whole mirror by tapping the mirror pivot with a screw driver but the thing will not budge. To check - is this is a normal thread and so should I be tapping anticlockwise?? Would you recommend any WD40 to help as I am a little scared of hitting this too hard?!!

much easier to take whole mirror off you should be able to see where grub screw was and reposition it if it has slipped/come loose im sure thread is normal direction to remove .

If the grub screw is loose you will have trouble removing the mirror. See here. Hope this helps!

Thanks all,

Just come in from garage - used some WD40, left for 1 hour, 2 taps and unscrewed the mirror!! Tightened grub screw, used some lock-tight on the pivot and all is back together.

Thanks all for your advice.
