I have an ElmCan WLAN obd2 adapter.
The "power" bulb is shining when I connect the ElmCan to the Ultima.
In the iPhone settings I can see and connect to the ElmCan Wi-Fi network.
"ElmCan-WLAN" is selected in the REV2 hardware settings.

But still. REV2 can't connect.
What am I missing?

Sven, it sometimes helps to restart the App - I guess you mean the Rev app, I couldn`t find Rev2?

It's still "Rev", but version 2.0 is released wink

I'll give it another try tomorrow.
The car doesn't need to be running, does it?

Does it connect immediately,
or does it take a minute to connect to the car?

In order to read codes you don`t have to start the engine but you need to turn on the ignition - but if you start the engine in the process I think the network is disconnected and you need to restart the process. Hope that helps...

I purchased a £0.59 'engine calc' app a couple of weeks ago.....works a treat, Tim Adams was chuckling at this newest gizmo 'app' the other day!

No success.
Tried with a Peugeot 206.
Same result.

iPhone Wi-Fi found and connected.
Selected ElmCan-WLAN in REV,
but REV can't connect.

What IP-address and port does the ElmCan listen to?

The only part I understood was iPhone....which, begs the question, What on earth do you need a phone in an Ultima for?? You won't be able to hear it ringing smile

It seems you need it to talk to the car and listen to what it has to say in reply, including its deepest secrets

So here`s an explanation for the guys in an "advanced age": modern day engines make heavy use of electricity (the thing that comes out of the socket in the wall). If you have any iPhone and want to show off you can read what the electricity does in an around the engine. Have a look: www.devtoaster.com/products/rev

I thought they ran on super unleaded.

Thank god they do! Our cars are like a big middle finger to all the eco-fascists.
Sometimes I even manage to set off the neighbor`s car alarm on the other side of the street so everybody in town knows when it`s time to clear the streets with their E-cars and bicycles. Rant over, back to topic:
I found it rather helpful to know what the engine`s up to when we had to sort out the numberous error codes that it produces due to the bad programming of a certain engine supplier. We wouldn`t have found out otherwise if it wasn`t with an OBD2 reader.

Storer,

Is it WiFi connected??

I had the same problem myself a while back, until I got suspicious about the connection...so I looked at the settings and found that the iPhone had mysteriously found another wifi connection to hang on and not the ODB2 wifi. I just reset the wifi to the correct one, and all burst into life!

I noticed the iphone will try to go for another cxonnection when the ODB2 wifi is not available, so I now always check before going into the REV app.... and I am coming up 61 in 2 months!
