It's suspicious to say the least, what do you think?

Any Golf that's been messed with is a muddle. (I always think of the VW ad with the Golf crying)

Me and a friend are discussing it, we think there's a slight chance it's a stolen R32 with TDi plates on.

The rev counter appears to go to 8k..

Going by the description, I'd say it's worth a punt at £4K. Wouldn't buy it myself but I am sure you could break it down for parts and cushion the price if it turned out to be a dog.

R32's have blue glass, this one has green glass. But it does look too good to be true.

I've looked again....if they've spent that much to make a tdi look like an R32...why?

But its about 1500 quid under priced and has actually had thousands and thousands spent if they are genuine parts so would be worth a lot more

It is still missing alot of bits fitted to a proper R32. ie

Smoked rear lights
Factory Zenons with projector lamps (probably a cheap kit in standard lights there)
Interior is missing all the proper turned ali trim.
Dash is a normal base golf type

So I think just somebody spent alot of money making it look nearly like an R32

Nope.....the aircon switches etc are way different to my R32, as are other internal features

Not my cup of tea. Go standard IMO but I'm not buying it so easy for me to say!

It all depends on whether the r32 parts were paid for in the first place

A lot of email me through another address ads make me nervous. I've seen so many that are scams, the price looks too cheap as well. Possibly worth an email, but I'd be surprised if it was legit.

If its a genuine straight car its an absolute bargain.

The low price makes me think something might not be right.

A bog standard 04 Golf Tdi S with that mileage and fsh will sell within a few days off autotrader at £5k, thats for a base car with steel wheels, low spec etc.

Mk 5 golfs are quite rare with leather, and having leather eg on an 04 Golf Gt 150 will add £500 to £1000 to the used price (yes really, its that rare on the non Gti T Fsi models).

If the owner has bothered to look on autotrader they'd see the prices, and if they had all this work done (£1,000's have been spent) they'd know its worth a lot more so I would check it out before sending any money.

Then again it may just be a quick sale and a main dealer might have offered them £3.5k in p/x (chancers like BMW main dealer).

Its definitely worth a look!

I meant more is it a scam or not pal

I like the car, if it was legit and i was in the market i'd snap it up! But i don't think it is..

A friend sent me the car with intention of going to see it, but it seems way too dodgy to me!

My guessing is that it's a scam, the wording of the Ad makes me think that.

Scam, definitely and obviously. The bit about "Email me at genericsoundingWesternnameatwebmailaddress" is my alarm bell. Much too cheap too.
