New Griff 500 Owner

Saw and fell in love with a Griff 500 yesterday, covered 15,000 miles complete full service history, 1996 on a P plate, she drove beautifully, brakes worked well. I have been looking for either a Griff or Lotus Elise 111S (missed a good one last week, now I know why)

Thanks all, you can say it was love at first sight, I've looked at other Griffs but this one definately cried "Hellllooo, take me home!" (in that Leslie Phillips tone, if you get my drift). So who was I to refuse such a request.
Still got all the Saabs, 'fraid they're not going anywhere. More a case of first non Saab for many years, but my 1st ever car was a 1968 Austin Mini Cooper.

The purist out there might not agree with the colour, its the chameleon blue/green effect. But she looks good with this Jacobs coat.
Bought her through H.L. Gorner in Wigan, had been out for a test drive earlier in the day in a Chimi at Christopher Neil then decided to go across to see one that Gorner's had in, and there she was waiting patiently for me. I never knew she was there, they'd only had the car in mid week, and it's not even appeared on their website stock list, or even been in the workshop (best way to see a car in my honest opinion, you can get a better feel for the previous owner).
At the moment can't praise Gorners highly enough thoroughly pleasent experience being there.

Heard from Gorners this am, car will be ready to be picked up Wed 28.4., I had said there was no rush, waited this long a few more days won't hurt. Glad it wasn't the Bank Holiday Weekend, phew.
With all the touristi that converge on North Wales, didn't fancy getting to know her through that lot.
Sorted insurance out, not as bad as expected, having insurance on the 9-3 helped.
Anyone know of a good company for outside weatherproof covers, since she'll need to live outside for a while, whilst we sort out additional garaging. Any opinions on the ones sold by Demon Tweeks?

I bought a breathable cover for my Griff from Covercraft. It works well, but beware of the seams,
for asthetic reasons they put them on the inside and they can mark the paintwork in the wind. Saying that,with summer just around the corner, providing you can get the garage sorted by winter I wouldn't bother.

t brown! The Lotus’s are nice but you made the right choice.
If your going to get a garage by winter then I’d agree with the others and don’t bother with a cover just get a can of Thompsons Water Sealer and treat the roof. If you find any leaks though come back here and we’ll soon have them sorted.
Although mine is garaged at home, I use her daily all year round and she’s often stood outside all day on an airfield in driving rain, snow and ice, no problem.

Hey guys, can anyone explain this?
Met a fellow 500 LE owner. His Griffith has a recessed angled rear plate with down illumination. My car has a flush rear plate, backlit. Is it just a TVR quirk of fate?
Last night I read a post in the "Plod & the Law" section, talking about honeycomb number plates being illegal on newer vehicles. As only the honeycombs can be backlit, it might explain TVR's change for the last few Griffs?
My 1996 Griff has the backlit variety, and I love the smooth look of the back end given by having the flush 'plate!
