Tony
Spoke to Andrew today and think it may be too difficult to get a venue or people to a ttend this time of year. We didn't like the last venue so need to find somewhere else
Happy to listen to suggestions etc?

Tony, I suggest pauls house. You bring the bread, I'll bring cheese and we can have roasted cheese while Paul pretends to understand how kettles work. biggrin

My car is unlikely to make it out of the garage unless we get further thawing before Wednesday.

The city centre roads are all fine, if anyone fancies venturing this way?

Cheeky puppy! lol
I will have you know i come from a long line of distinguished cooks! I cook most types of food but partic mid european and can bake quite well.

Open to ideas. Meant to be meeting Andrew in my local, Tinderbox in the westend for coffee at 8pm on wed. Could make it the city centre one on Ingram street as much more space and easier to sit together?

What you think?

I’m up for that.

(The Ingram St one’s my local … though I’d make the trek to the West End quite happily if it suited everyone else better.)

Ok
Lets make it tinderbox ingram street for say 730 on wed?
Will put a separate post. When I checked them out as a venue some time ago they insisted it was busy on a wednesday. May bring some shotguns and see if can create some space for us. Possibly shoot some cheeky young puppy to make the point!

Will put separate post on for this

After enquiring, unless you are a guide dog puppy the new place isn't fine with you laugh

I can borrow a grown up Labrador if that helps?

The handy thing about this is that if there’s not enough room in Tinderbox, there are a large number of pubs nearby. One will be empty enough, even at this time of year.

(Most of which usually let my dog in too.)

Does one park in the public car park opposite? (I say this since I've never been there and looked it up on google streetview, looks like an old church. Being neither Weegie or East Coast Toff wink )

ETA Should I wear a badge "I'm with Don Santoni" for security?
Whoops looking closer, scrub church comment. Strretview has wrong label for business.

The car park’s safe enough, but the gravel/surface in it turns up all sorts of rubbish - nails, glass and all sorts. Not good for the old tyres.

If street parking isn’t available (Ingram St, Montrose St, Candleriggs or Albion St), there is a big multi-storey Q-park at the bottom end of Albion St. That’s as safe as houses. Two minute walk back up to Tinderbox.
