Hi All, this is a repost of a thread in the business section, but sensible suggestion from there tell me to post the thread here - so sorry if this counts as a cross thread/horrid repost scenario...

I've got a show coming up on Saturday afternoon where I need a man in a Stig suit to appear at the end of this holographic video -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRkZ2r5ia0Q

It's being played out an industry awards night and I cannot find a suitable suit anywhere without paying £450!!

I've got to the stage now where I am now prepared to allow the suit to not be an exact likeness, just a representation of the Stig. I've done the obligatory Google search and have found about 3 suits, but they're not available. Can any recommend anything? Or have you got a racing suit that you use that might do the trick - getting slightly desperate now!

Any help appreciated!

Cheers

Ben

Ben, if youre baulking at the cost of the Nomex suit, then the helmet will cause you to have a turn! I hope that youre successful in your search; but I suspect that youre going to have to pay proper money to buy proper kit.

Hi, - the idea is that I don't want to buy it - hire or borrow would be closer, it's only a one off show. I have no need for it after Saturday. I know how costly these things can be so at the moment I just need a white suit and a white helmet! smile

There is at least one guy who does appearances as a Stig Lookalike with an authentic suit/helmet. May be an idea.

Buy a suit and helmet, do your gig and then put it up on ebay. You may even find you would make a profit!

what about looking at a suitable coloured kart suit as they tend to be a fair bit cheaper than full race suits and I doubt anyone will really notice

something like this http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Karting/Kartwear/Sui... should get most of the cash back selling on ebay
