Genuine Engine warranty nowa days

Hi,

a quick question, I am thinking about entering the TVR world again (I must be mad) and wondered if there is a good engine warranty that actually pays out for the full fix parts\labour etc, should the worst happen.

When I had my T350 4 years or so ago I was able to get a top end engine rebuild by the factory as a good will jobby but it still cost a lot for engine out delivery etc etc

Apart from going for a power rebuilt car (dont seem to be many about at teh moment), I want to be sure I am covered instead of going through all the pain of old.

TVR Power now offer (option) a 100,000 mile warranty on all Sp6 rebuilds. This being over and above the basic (30K mile) warranty. Think the milages quoted are correct - but a call to Power will confirm or otherwise.

Alternatively, for an inspection fee and oil change, plus ca. £700, a yearly warranty on all Sp.6 engines - - subject to the inspection being satisfactory.

My preference would be a car with a power rebuild but they are few and far between. I didn't realise they offered an existing engine warranty.

I'd certainly recommend looking for a car with a Power rebuild, but mainly because I'm thinking of selling my 4.3 in the New Year so I'm not exactly unbiased!

Dom's new annual warranty seems like a good bet for £750, as long as you can find an engine that passes the initial inspection; after all, if there's any suggestion of wear, they are going to recommend a rebuild to some extent before they'll offer a warranty. On that basis, the best buy might be a car with a recent rebuild from a reputable specialist but without a warranty.

The £750 warranty looks offers some piece-of-mind and is offered by Dom on the basis that they are finding Speed 6 failure levels are dropping. If I was looking at a private-sale Tuscan, I'd be asking for the vendor to pay for the TVR Power inspection before the sale. Best of all worlds.....

I bought mine with , the remainder of a three year unlimited mileage TVR power warranty ( over two years left.)It is transferable as long as servicing is kept up to date. There are a few out there with power rebuilds now.

I am thinking about another T350 but a sorted Tuscan maybe something different and could be the way to go...
I will keep my eyes peeled and also have a chat with power...
