I need the calipers on my 1973 BMW 2002 completely refurbished. They're rusty and haven't been used for lots of years.

I need a recommendation of somewhere to send them. I'd like them blasted, painted and rebuilt with new seals.

Why not have a go at DIY?

You can get kits quite easily for the 2002 calipers.

Just brush the outside and then coat in a suitable paint such as Japlac (taeks ages to dry but is tough) or a VHT paint (dries quickly and is durable but matt finish).

The bore of the pistons should be fine if there has been no water inside the calipers, then there should be no corrosion.

Just give everything a good clean and then fit the new seals. It might be worth buying a piston wind back tool for the caliper but they are around £10 - £15.

Much cheaper and more satisfying than paying over the odds for recons ones.
