Well this year I've discovered TV - it's actually pretty good isn't it?!

I have namely been using iPlayer and downloading serieseses of things via iTunes that I want to watch / keep.

Can any one reccommend me any series' or films that are worth watching?

The programmes, so far, that have sparked my attention are as follows; Peep Show, How not to live your life, Hignfy, QI, Miranda, Alan Partridge, Yes (Prime) Minister, Fawlty Towers et al...

Cheers!

House, NCIS, people say The Wire is pretty good as well.

Cartoon stuff like Family Guy, American Dad, Futurama are also well worth a watch.

Criminal Minds and NCIS for crime drama. I couldn't understand a word anyone said in The Wire.

Breaking Bad is superb, the award winning chemistry teacher turned meth kingpins 3rd season has recently finished. The Walking Dead has also had a good start, if you like Zombie/Apocolyptic themes.

Too right, all that top quality programming to watch for the first time.

It is a struggle to find good shows to watch now. Some of the epic ones mentioned make current offerings pale in comparison.

I've never seen a single episode of any of these, I feel a DVD purchase coming on.

Massively recommend Sons of Anarchy. Just finished season 3, and its probably one the finest tv shows ever made. Right up there with sopranos, wire etc. (Actually think sopranos with bikers rather than mafia)

I got half way through the first episode and baled out, perhaps I need to give it another try.

Sopranos, Mad Men. Start there, torrent them/slaps hand, or get the box sets. You will emerge pale and thin about 2 weeks later from the lounge.

Band of Brothers and Battlestar Galactica should keep you going for a good while.

Don't think that BSG is just another nerdy sci-fi series, its not.

You're damn right it's not, it's a nerdy sci-fi series that makes us nerds think we're watching something that's not nerdy.

As for the op's question:
Big Bang Theory
