... or does the lack of use & limited service history make it one to avoid?

Not actually looking to purchase (I want an Espada S3 (one day)), just interested in opinions.

If you keep it forever, the 10 year service gap might put people off!!!

Someone down the line there will be pain one way or the other

it does say "full" service.
So depends what kind of service was done inbetween really.

The owner appears to be having a clear out as he also has this for sale.

Sad that he never got to enjoy driving either of them. I really dont understand people who buy cars like this to keep in the garage and just sit in occassionally.

Dave Jones, Fife (Scotland), I may be wrong, however sounds like the guy who founded the software games company DMA that made millions from Lemmings and Grand Theft Auto.

Sadly his most recent software company (Realtime Worlds) folded earlier this year with large debts and quite a large team losing their jobs.

If it is the same Dave Jones (and apologies if not), he was a regular at Knockhill in various supercars, including a black GT2, and a yellow 1,000 BHP Skyline. Google research may confirm this.

I may have seen the Lambo there too, but would have been a while back and can't be sure.

It is Daves, he's my old boss and a very nice chap. That Lambo is mint in every way, I was lucky enough to have a good nose round his garage and there are / were some amazing machines in there.

His Flat nose is up too, as is the Vanquish S and the RS200. I think I remember him saying he'd never sell his 993 GT2 and I think he still has the 430 scud as well.

It was quite a collection, it was great to see them all together.

Could not be further from the truth. He would in some cases take several cars to Knockhill for the same event. I believe he tried his hand at racing however commercial & personal insurance terms limited this somewhat.

Yup, he used to race in the F360 Challenge.

On the subject of using his cars, Dave uses his cars on track as there were meant to. His GT2 is one of only 7 RHD's ever made but that never stops him storming round Knockhill in it, as he does the scud.

He gave me some laps in the GT2 in the rain and there were the most memorable of any car laps I've ever had, he can drive.......

Finally, S2_DPD, your GS is a work of genius, love it smile

I almost bought a 360 off him a couple of years ago, similar story, immaculate with very small mileage.

In terms of other cars he owned perhaps but not the 911 flatnose and the Diablo.

Between 2003 - 2009 he put 14 miles on the Porsche!

The RS200 was featured in an early Jeremy Clarkson video (so might have Skyline). It was in the Guinness Book of Records as the fastest 0-60 car. Wonderful collection of cars - all kept in heated garage and on trickle chargers; bikes too. Great plates like 911 GT on GT2 , DJ 1, etc
