Hepvo on shower drain (almost) horizontal run
Discussion
I have a shower trap that keeps drying out / syphoning and smelling.
No room for a deeper trap under the shower.
I can get to a length of the shower drain (edit: 40mm) PVC that runs almost horizontal (i.e. just enough fall) from the shower. It doesn't go vertical anywhere before hitting the soil.
A good solution to my trap problems would be a hepvo.
However I'm a bit concerned it will cause the shower to be slow draining with it in a run with hardly any fall.
Anyone got experience here? Cheers.

We've got HepVo traps on everything in the house except for shower trays - I'm a great fan as they are quiet and free you from restrictions on pipe lengths. The baths drain fine, with the traps horizontal, and while I can't compare the rate at which they empty with what a shower puts out, I'd imagine it would be fine for most shower flows. Incidentally, shower traps normally have a 40mm outlet - if your shower is connected to a 32mm pipe, it's likely that would limit flow far more than the HepVo would.

Thanks - I meant to put 40mm....I suppose it is worth a go, the shower is pumped electric so doesn't have a very big flow rate.
