Hi, I have a 535 that was parked up during the snow. I took it out on Sunday and was getting no heat from the climate control until about 1 hour into driving it but, it was only moderate heat, definitely not 32C. Yesterday I was driving it and after about 3 hours of driving it started to get alot warmer than before but, I doubt it was 32C either. Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm going for a sticky thermostat. Although the temperature of the air coming out won't be the number you set on the display, that is the interior temperature it is aiming for.

Also another point, the temperature gauge for outside has been going crazy. It has been anywhere from -40C to 27C yesterday. Does a sticky thermostat mean I have to buy a new one or are they repairable?

SOunds like your external temp sensor is borked. Do you know where it is and if so what happens if you pour hot/boiling water on it? It should be just below and slightly behind the fog light.

Will that be causing the climate control problem, or is that another problem?

I'm guessing it may as it needs to know temps so it can regulate. If I'm honest though I could also be talking rubbish biggrin

Not outside temps. The internal temp is measured through the postage stamp sized grilles on the climate control panel in the dash.

Any other random electrical gremlins? If so it could be the ignition switch.

^agree with miniman^ - might be worth waving a gentle hoover over it, the sensor can get furry & misread. edited before the spelling Nazis get me...flamin' works PC...

^^^^^ agree with that - hoovering sorted mine out when it was a bit off
