Following on from the drive up to North Wales (see wheelspin at 60mph thread)...
Driving back home again, the car seems very unsettled and not at all sure-footed. It does not inspire any confidence whatsoever. The steering seems really vague and I have to make constant corrections to the steering.
I have also noticed a strange 'doing' noise after hard cornering, sounds like a spring.
What are typical failures here....springs / shocks / bushings. Have also heard something about diff mounts. This might also tie in with the unusually poor traction mentioned in my other thread?

The roads were incredibly slippery yesterday. This can be a big factor. As for mechanical failure could well be anything as you say. Worth chceking tyre pressures and geometries as it is possible that you have knocked a wheel out of alignment.
