I have a Kenwood microwave/grill combo thing. Its about 3 years old and today I had a call from Mrs 335is to tell me that its died.
Not handy when your trying to warm up a 3mnth olds lunch.
I had a look at it when I came home and sure enough, its doing everything as it should except heat.
My query is, is it worth pulling it to bits to fix or should I just buy a new one.
My Kenwood cooker is in bits at the moment aswell (element in fan oven) and its the same age!
I remember when this stuff was good quality. Not anymore it seems. rolleyes

I wouldn't bother, I'd pop along to whatever is your nearest big supermarket or electrical place and buy a basic cheap microwave....one that has a dial and goes "brrrrrr" and "ping".

I don't know anyone who actually uses any of the fancy features on their microwaves. Buy the cheapest one you can bin it when it goes wrong (and that's from someone who is actually very keen on Reuse, Recycle etc.)

I see your point Piglet but we have a newish kitchen and all the appliances are stainless steel so it would be nice to keep it all the same.
Thanks for the advice. smile

We have a huge old Panasonic combi micro grill oven. Gawd knows how old it is - maybe 15 years? Packed up about 4 years ago - no heat. Sent it to a local repair place who fixed it for £50.00 and it's been going strong ever since. It's still in use in our old house that we rent out. At the time, £50.00 to repair was much much cheaper than buying a new equivalent.

I think I've just written the most boring post ever!...
