Thinking of upgrading the standard radio/cassette in my e39 for an all in one DAB headunit such as the Phillips CEM2000B

Question is - are they any good?

Will also need a fasica converter panel, has anyone with an e39 fitted one? and if so can you keep the flappy bit that covers the cd/cassette unit?

Apologies if posted in the wrong section!

If it doesn't specifically mention DAB+ in the features, don't buy it. We'll have to move to DAB+ before we get national switchover.

Well, can only comment on my JVC dab headunit I bought from ebay 5 years back for 99 quid, including windscreen aerial. It's bloody great.

I have to say, despite some negative DAB comments, that mine is actually splendid. Doesn't drop the signal at all round here (South Coast) and only very occasionally when I'm in the depths of Norfolk visiting folk. Even then, it's only now and again, and not enough to be annoying.

I'm a DAB convert without a doubt, I usually listen to Planet Rock in the car, in fact if I couldn't listen to this when driving, I'd go out of my bloody mind!
