Did anyone else watch this last night?

I was perhaps expecting a little more factual information than "some people say this was a brothel, I don't think so"...........

Agreed.. Very interesting seeing all the skeletons and the paintings on the walls. The restaurants and stuff.

But, the woman who was presenting it was a fking idiot.

Been to Pompeii twice and it is indeed a fascinating place. However, I think it has been done to death on TV now and it's about time that other, even more impressive ancient towns and cities should get a look in.
How about a programme on its neighbour, Herculaneum?

Or Ephesus, which makes Pompeii look like the small provincial town it was.

The Good Professor took an almost childish delight in the Anglo-Saxon terminology I thought.

Yes, that does appear to be a fairly direct way of putting it!! She was getting right on my nerves and just said stuff that didn't make sense - I mean, "the last person to use this toilet wrote this" - Oh come on, it was scraped into the wall, it could have been done at any time.

Motco - yes, and again, I failed to see the point of her choice of words, given it was, at least I thought, meant to be an informative show.

She did.

It was as if she wasn't allowed to use the words in her normal life as a geek so because it was on a TV show and that was what was basically written she took delight in emphasising the words.
