THE PETER HULL MEMORIAL RACE MEETING FEATURING THE GP ITALA AND LANCHESTER TROPHY RACES, SILVERSTONE

The traditional Club racing season opener also heralds the start of the international historic motor racing calendar so expect to see stars and cars of the historic world exercising their machines in a "back to school" event, relishing the challenge of the forthcoming season. This year the event is dedicated to Peter Hull, former Club Secretary and stalwart who passed away in 2003. Come and enjoy all your favourite racing cars alongside the extensive trade stands and autojumble.

I think so, unless the weather is like yesterday. GF's brother not entering this year, so may get a lift in his Speed 20 (Alvis), either that or see if my brother is taking his Frazer Nash.

PS Met-up with the Daffidol run yesterday at Stockbridge - we'd taken the 12/50 up, only got a little wet!!!

yep - I`ll be going along for the traditional freezing starter, although the atmosphere has lacked a little in recent years.Is the entry any good?

Also I note no HSCC this year.

That was the June one last year with the HSCC which seems to have become for 2004 (Friday 4th –Sunday 6th) The Silverstone Historic Tribute - FORCE Formula 1, Group 4 Historic Sports Cars, BRDC 50s Sports Cars, Pre-war Grand Prix Cars, Pre-war Sports Cars, Derek Bell Trophy, Classic F3, Historic Formula Jr, Historic FFord, Classic Racing Cars, HGPCA Drum Brake Sports Cars, Historic Racing Saloons plus support races. Seems to be angling replace the Old Coys Historic Festival Meeting.

Races include: GP Itala & Lancaster Trophies for Vintage Racing Cars, Rothschild Trophy for Pre ’61 F1 and F2 Racing Cars, Patrick Lindsay Memorial Trophy for pre-war Racing Cars, Fox and Nichol Trophy for road-trim Sports Cars, Scratch Race for 50s Sports/Racing Cars + Handicaps, Scratch races, and Regularity Trials.
