Rattling / Hissing boost gauge problem

Fitted a boost gauge to my Octavia VRS 1.8T last night to monitor the turbo as it has just been replaced. The take off was from the fuel pressure regulator as per various internet guides etc. The gauge is working and reading boost correctly, however, when i am on full boost (0.7 bar), the guage itself seems to hiss/rattle.

I intend to re-check the vacuum pipe for leaks, but other than that I think it could be a faulty gauge. Any ideas??

If its hissing from the gauge then its leaking somewhere.

probably a cheap nasty gauge with no restrictor or anything to damp it's operation.


Fit a small restrictor in the signal line to the gauge. say 0.8mm or so should do.

Boost gauge knackered. Bought another one and tried it on my piping - works fine.
