Win A WRX STI - The Winner!

The votes are in, the entries have been verified. We have a winner...

You'll have one of these soon Rob!
You'll have one of these soon Rob!
The waiting is over, the deed has been done and we can now announce the winner of the PistonHeads competition to win a brand new Subaru WRX STI.

Quite frankly, we are all rather jealous here at PH Towers, and can't quite believe that someone is getting a brand new car for free, forever and built to their own choice of colour. Oh well, knowing that we are making someone's year is compensation enough (ain't we the altruists?...), and it has to be said that the winner submitted a stunning entry.

Judging the entries was a task in itself, as we individually marked each section of the entry (photographs, blog content, running costs etc) to come up with an overal winner based on the highest total score. It was a close-run thing actually, with the top three being very close together and many entries were of exceptionally high quality.

So without, as they say, further ado, here are the results (in the tradititional, reverse order of course):

Third place: Waugh-terfall

Second place: Thorburn

But there can be only one winner and that person is......rob.e

Rob gave an impressive amount of detail on his cars, along with some great pictures. Add in a great writing style and some good humour and we have a well-deserved champion. Well done Rob, we'll do all we can to deliver your new Subaru as soon as possible.

Thanks to all of you who entered, it was a pleasure to read through so many entries and it's worth highlighting a few other entries that impressed/made us laugh during the judging process:

RMW
sngdelta
Ten Ninety
Rawwr
Hiryu
TomBoyNI
exceed
Dagz
David87
v4nnm
p1tse
sniff diesel
M3madman
ChipsAndCheese

Congratulations from all at PH to Rob, and look out for his review on PH a few weeks after he has taken delivery.

Congratulations to Rob. But it would seem he has neglected to put one of his previous cars down (the vectra sri as reffered to in the corrado section).

Also has slated a mk1 focus rs for not being that fast and poor handling whilst praising and mentioning the lightening speed of a golf gti mkv and a prelude vti and yet not having anything bad to say about his 2 mk3 golf gti`s.

Not that i have read any of the other contestants entries but i would have though a couple of things like this are a little bit......... hmmmmm.

Anyway, congratulations again. Enjoy it.

Tough crowd! The man did good, and we can't question his own opinion.

Definitely the best of the bunch, and it stood up to independent judging too.

Fair enough, it`s just strange to see critisism of a car like the focus rs and then nothing but good things about cars such as a 306xs.

Good luck to the Rob anyway, bet thats a cracking car. Hope you guys are going to fill it up with a tank v-power for him too. laugh

Massive congratulations to Rob and to PH for actually managing to give away a car this time someone was bound to say something.

Has the colour been chosen yet? Think I'd go for Black.
