ZE912s are summer tyres, not all-season.

Try a Vredestein Quatrac 3 or a Hankook Optio 4S.

Do you mean all season, or do you mean a summer tyre with a bit more of a blocky pattern (perhaps could be called a comfort or touring tyre)

In other threads I've mentioned the tyres just fitted to the OHs car - Kleber Quadraxers. I'm very, very impressed with them. They are unusual in that despite being "all season" they also bear the three-peaks and snowflake symbol, and I can confirm that in the snow I was unable to find anything that could stop them in her auto, RWD Merc coupe. They also seem pretty quiet and handle well in dry and wet (better than the almost new Falken Ziex 912s we took off).

On a AWD car you'd be unstoppable.

Event Tyres do them.

You're thinking of the ZE512, not the 912.

They're technically rated as all seasons but are pretty much garbage in the snow.

Don't know if they are sold in Europe, but the Continental ContiExtremeContact and the new one, the ExtremeContact DWS is up there with some winter tires in the white stuff.

If not, Michelin Pilot Primacy AS, Pilot Sport AS (Althought they're expensive frown ) or the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS.

Again, not sure if those are sold in the UK, but the Conti DWSs are fantastic.

Hi,

Think I can certainly offer you some advice, I run a forester on All-season tyres. For the past 12 months, just before last winters snow I fitted Vredestein Quatrac 2's all round. At first they seemed a bit "squirmy" on bends but was told that was down to the "blocky style" tread and that they would settle down. Sure enough after a couple of weeks they did, just in time for the snow and all I can say is WOW. They make you realise why you bought a Forester in the first place, you are unstoppable with these things on. Highly reccomended, they feature a snowflake on the side too

ZE-912 is a comfort/touring tyre, however I too have also seen it referred to as an 'all season' tyre. They get good reviews as a great value for money tyre with very good performance across the board, rather than being exceptional in some conditions and awful in others, and appear to do better on bigger heavier cars judging by the feedback I read, and they'd better be good, as I ordered 2 today smile

I have Vredestein Quadrac 3 fitted to the front driving wheels of my commuting car. I am very impressed. In all conditions, including the recent Snow and Ice, I have been able to proceed where others have been left spinning their wheels or just bogged in the snow. Also they are quite and grip well when cornering.

Sadly they're not sold in the UK, and I've been told by Conti they'd actually be pretty bad on the UK roads.

A lot of tyre retailers list them as a summer tyre but as you can see they're wrong.

As said I've ordered 2 so can you elaborate? st in the wet, st in the dry, st on snow, st price, st wear...they may not be as good as the market leaders but at less than half the cost in some cases I'd imagine they're not st relatively speaking, but as many have stated reasonably good all round for the price?

That's the american site. Unfortunately they have different classifications of tyres to us (don't ask!)

I can believe it but here's something from the front page of the Falken UK website http://www.falkentyres-uk.com/

"With sports style, driving comfort, unbeatable driving enjoyment and outstanding all weather control, this is the new ZE912."

Wonder what the difference is between all weather and all season?
