I am of course referring to the G350 on the homepage. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2335023.htm

Now dont get me wrong, I absolutley ADORE these jeeps, especially in that colour combo, however I dont think I could ever justify spending £125k hard earned tokens on one? I know aboutb the image, the offroad ability, the build quality & the history etc, but £125k buys you alot of new alternative metal, second hand you could buy a fleet including a fully loaded RR & moedern Ferrari/Lambo of some sort!!

Your Thoughts?

That seems well overpriced, a friend bought a brand new RHD G55 AMG build to his own spec from Merc for about 150k earlier in the year and THAT was well overpriced.

Personally, I wouldn't buy it if I had 125K to play with.

As previously posted, I'd get a Range Rover and a nice 360/Gallardo.

But if I was worth millions, or even billions, I'd buy it.

Just 'cos, well, why not?

I'm sorry but G55 or 65 is an awesome, utterly cool vehicle, just because it's so pointless. A Diesel on the other side is neither cool nor awesome smile

This is weird..

It was at Merc World on Sunday in the customer handover area.. So why have they bought it and shifted it on straight away?

I had a look at that one (they let me have a sit inside) and it was a G55 AMG, assuming you are talking about the one that was to the right of the cafe queue?

I saw that this morning and considered posting it in the "Horrors in the classifieds" purely on the basis of the price.

I mean seriously - 125K for a diesel jeep? Foxtrot Oscar.

Ah right, yes the one just by the cafe queue thought it was this one.. Both look identical to me hehe

So I could have a brand new Defender and a brand new GT3, or a tractor with some leather?

Given the design hasnt fundamentally changed from the outside in a couple of decades now, how strong are these things given they presumably lack the modern crash structures of their rivals.

They seem like a German Defender, and if we're honest, thats not a good thing at the speeds these can gallop along at.

The only problem being when you finally find something bigger and heavier to hit (like an HGV) G just stops dead, and the ocupants crash into the interior at full speed, ouch!

I dont understand the appeal/cost of these things.
There is an abandoned G wagon near us its been sitting there on the drive unmoved for many years, just full of junk inside, and its rotted away completely.

I'd say 25k would be a reasonable price for it...... Must be a typo in the advert......

I've never known a vehicle go back to the dealers for problem rectification more than my Father-in-law's G-Wagen.

Well if there's a market for them at that money, why not sell them for it? And sell they will, judging by the "sold by Pistonheads" sign on the advert.

Unless of course that the trader selling it has seen this thread (or very likely posted in the other one) and has decided to take his free advert elsewhere
