Well, someone had to start it... hehe

Well, this now makes no sense, seeing as a Mod has changed the title. It was originally called "David Coulthard the new cock", and was intended as a joke title seeing as it was

a) posted within an hour of the announcement that he was stepping in to the commentary box, and

b) in the light of the various "James Allen is a cock" or "Jonathan Legard is a cock" threads, it seemed amusing to post such a title without anybody at the time having heard a single piece of commentary being uttered by him.

Oh well...

have I missed a BBC announcement?

ETA: Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!
Cockishness to be confirmed, I feel you may be right, but he CAN'T be worse than JL, we must remember this in the dark moments.

JL was so bad that he made people nostalgic for JA
I dont believe DC could be bad enough to make us want JL back.

no way will I get nostalgic. To his successor though, please don't say every 2 seconds, this is crucial. .

be prepared for lots of "I cant believe that wall came out of nowhere right into the path of the red bull..."

and

"the red bull;s gone wide allowing the car in front to get away. A safety car situation surely..."

He maybe better then Legard, but Ifear he will not be impartial

Disagree, I think that DC is fully aware of the anti JL campaign, and is probably just as aware of PH calling him on his Red Bull favourtism (especially after Jason Plato spent some time playing simulators with him!, bet DC even throws a custard our way!)

I dont think DC will curb his red bull enthusiasm now he knows that an internet campaign could be the end of him.

I think the thing everyone will take away from this is "talk over Brundle at your peril". It's certainly going to be a different type of commentary, that's for sure. I wonder if they'll be getting special guests in like they do on 5 Live?

A link to the story might have been a good idea, its just taken me 5 mins searching google trying to figure out what the hell you guys were on about, I thought it was some "in" joke.

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/16122010/23/legard-b...

So...looks like Legard is out then, NICE! Please don't let Charlie Cox take over though, he's the bloody same "SHOUT SHOUT SHOUT" - I don't want to be shouted at, I know when it gets exciting because I'm watching the same thing as you!
Not sure about DC either to be fair, but I'll give him a chance, god knows why they don't just scrap the 5live broadcasts, merge the 2 teams so we have Brundle, Crofty and Davidson, then play same commentary on both radio and TV?

well neither brundle or coulthard are lead commentators so there may be a lot less talking during the races. which might be nice smile

Half the battle is won if they are matey (they are aren't they??) so hopefully that will lead to good banter rather than the tensions we witnessed with JL and MB. Similar perhaps to the Moto GP guys who are excellent.
