Hi all , am I right in thinking the wheel stud pcd is ford granada 5 stud ?( err ? not that they ever came in other number of studs ) thinking about picking up some cheep granada wheels as slave wheels over the winter , saving the tyres from flat spotting while for the majority of the time where the cars stationary but still allowing me to pull it in and out of garage to warm through a few times a month , now my 2nd part of question is I realise that the granada wheels wont fit on normally because of brake size so i was thinking what if i turn them round ( inside out ) has / does anyone use slave wheels for the winter and if so what ? , and yeah hands it does sound a bit err ?? girly not using the car over winter , but iv got a couple of other toys for playing in the winter driving cheers for any ideas , Darren

actually I think your idea has a lot of merit. Id get the skinniest wheels and tires that would fit which would make it easier to roll and more room to work on odd pieces around the wheel well. I was on the road with my Renault R5 Turbo 2 many years ago and broke a rim(very long unhappy story about shoddy workmanship and high prices) Anyway I was 100 miles from home and it was a rear rim that failed. No spare rim or tire on board. Took a front off put it in the rear found a Le Car rim the would be a normal r5 to my British friends and drove it home. Manny Manny people laughed as they drove by me on te freeway as I did 45 mph. So using Granada rims in the garage sounds like a great idea if they well fit over the brakes even with the rim mounted backwards.Lee

These things do the job very well:
Even move your car sideways.

I think you will find standard steel wheels will not fit over the caliper.

That looks a nice solution indeed

Use a hydraulic jack front and rear, just enough to take the pressure off the tyres - then occasionally you can drop the front fully back down (for stability - chock the front wheels as well) and jack the rear a few inches off the ground and run the engine up to temperature and GENTLY go up and down the gearbox. This is what I did last winter when the weather was not good enough to take the car out.

The very thought of a wobble and one of the tyres momentarily kissing the floor...and launching you unceremonially right through the garage door, over the front fence, into the garden over-the-road...

...fills me with Horror!

Don't need that kind of excitement!
