"Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past"
Discussion
Article from the Independent ten years ago
'According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become "a very rare and exciting event. Children just aren't going to know what snow is," he said.'
I've been googling, but I can't find any more recent articles from him explaining the snow of the last three winters. Funny that....

However, the warming is so far manifesting itself more in winters which are less cold than in much hotter summers. The effects of snow-free winter in Britain are already becoming apparent. This year, for the first time ever, Hamleys, Britain's biggest toyshop, had no sledges on display in its Regent Street store. "It was a bit of a first," a spokesperson said.

Silly, that isn't snow. It's the sky falling. Repent, live modestly and give all your money to the government for redistribution!
No, you have it wrong. Its the burning ash from the millions spent on combating climate change and MMGW - its all just fluttering down and laying on the ground....:-(

Me thinks he was also hedging his bets. He also said in the same article -
"Heavy snow will return occasionally", says Dr Viner, but when it does we will be unprepared. "We're really going to get caught out. Snow will probably cause chaos in 20 years time," he said.
Yes cooling is the new warming unless it's warming."Heavy snow will return occasionally", says Dr Viner, but when it does we will be unprepared. "We're really going to get caught out. Snow will probably cause chaos in 20 years time," he said.
You're right to indicate that the impacts modeller or user of impacts modelling implicated in The Indy article said what they said, but what they said makes their theory unscientific.
Manmadeup global warming will cause no more snow.
Manmadeup global warming will cause more snow.
Having it both ways is not a testable hypothesis, it can never be falsified, and in any case they might just as well say that if any weather change occurs anywhere, or no change occurs, then they predicted that and their religion is worthy of true belief. The fact of the matter is that manmadeup global warming causes grants and career advancement as well as political influence. That's it.

No trees in Europe at all now. And all the pandas are dead as well and much of the world flooded. I'm amazed we're all still clinging on to life.Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
