Strikes me that we humans are normally aspirated, so would we benefit from the fitment of some form of forced induction? Questions like how to power the exhaust side of the turbo spring to mind or where to mount the intercooler. Maybe the Olympics would have to introduce additional events to cover supercharged runners (no need to worry about injection, as most althetes do this the papers lead me the believe).

Has this ever been done before (maybe somewhere in the old USSR)?

if i were to force you to induct a part of my anatomy, i'm sure you'd run pretty fast.

maybe that's the answer?

olympic runners being raped on the start line?

If air was forced up your rectum, I am sure you'd shift.

I said forced 'induction' not 'seduction'. Could I chose who?

Good spot - so I'm not mad.

Interesting how people felt the same then about FI as they do today: "Yet the use of oxygen was considered so unsportsmanlike that none of the rest of the Alpine world was able to recognize this high ascent rate, confusing the facts with emotional considerations"

Only beneficial at really high altitude as we don't use all the oxygen we inhale anyway in normal environments. Thats why drugs like EPO that increase oxygen carrying capicity work wonders for sportsmen.
