transporting an LCD TV - quick help!

Does an LCD TV need to be kept vertical when transporting it - going to pick one up now, don't think it will fit vertically in my car! Hoping to lie it flat with the seats down. It will be boxed, not loose.

am pretty sure thats fine, its plasma u shouldnt, dont blame me if it goes wrong though!
