Anyone been watching the new American series of Top Gear? anyone like or dislike it?

They've got the budget and the filming nailed, but the presenting is terrible! The guy who has clarksons role just doesnt seem to be putting any emotion in at all. The larger guy with glasses is ok... but it is awesome to see Tanner Foust on the show - i have much respect for his driving skills (just look up Mulholland Drift on youtube)

i like the idea of other countries having their own top gear, but they cant seem to get the lead role right - Top gear Australia has a similar problem with Charlie Croker - the other two presenters were fine. I'd give Top Gear UK a 8/10, Top Gear Australia 6/10 and Top Gear US 5/10.

It's not too bad. I think it's improving episode by episode. They're getting some interesting challenges.

I agree about Tanner Foust. His enthusiasm is infectious, its quite entertaining.

With TG AUS, they got rid of Charlie Cox after series 1, brought in a new guy for series 2, sacked two of them for series 3. They haven't quite got the challenges and stuff down yet, but there are a couple of annoying bits. The word Pretzel for instance.

Saw a couple of episodes when I was in the States recently. It seems more contrived than the UK version and there isn't quite the same chemistry. The US petrolheads I know are all busy looking up ways to access i-player from the US to get the real thing!
