Iam looking for a fuel cap for my TVR Tasmin. Does anybody has a spare one available? Or does anybody know to which car the cap originally belongs (Ford?)

From my petrol attendant days, my memory would say Hillman Imp. The boot hinges are from the Imp too, so it's quite possible.

I think David Gerald sell them - think that is where I got mine - will be a lot cheaper if you find the original source though

That push-and-turn cap must have been an industry standard for about a million years, even hired plant has them fitted.

Ive looked at so many that im contemplating replacing the 2"filler neck top part with one that comes with a cap fitted..Aston martin do one but they are £100+ which is a bit OTT..Although i wouldnt recommend it if you have not taken it off before as it can be a right beach,,I need to do mine as my mate at the ford garage put mine on a bit pcensoredd and the flap dont close fully....Cheers..Zig

I'd have thought after all your problem Zig you would have opted for the "rag in the filler cap and match approach" whistle

Hello mate..That looks a bit small..I know that my 280i has a 50mm inner dimension filler neck..Or 2 inch..That looks like one for a motorbike or lawnmower?(30mm)..Zig

It needs to be more like this i believe..At least mine does..There are locking lugs that come out when key is turned...Which open out to 2 inch..Iam going to find out sooner or later as it seems to be a bit of a red herring..zig

This is a link to the company in Wolverhampton which does the original TVR (Tasmin/Griffith) fillercaps!
They are actually motorbike fillercaps....
