Hi all,

Pete is in desperate need of some engine mounts for his ex-Greenstar Taz. The ones needed are those that bolt to the block to suit a Rover V8.

Anyone got any they wish to sell, or anyone know where I can get some for him? Rather urgent now...

Many thanks in advance

Dave

They are the same as the SD1 but just with the tops cut off and re-welded further up to match the chassis position. so if you can't find any already done you always do the same yourself. I did this to mine as I also had to make them shorter, as my chassis is narrower.

Surprised you did not get them with the car, as they are no use to anyone else, has Peter asked them.

Thanks Leigh, we've got some SD1 mounts there but hoping to get some already done if possible... Greenstar kept the engine when the car was bought, hence no mounts.

NP, It's quite easy to mod them as the metal is think so easy to weld.
May still be worth asking them, I know they kept the engine, but who ever is going to use it as an upgrade will already have mounts, esp if going into a different car, going to be no use anyway, so worth asking.
Nice to hear the cars coming together. was planning to get to my workshop tomorrow, but not sure will be able to, plus its a bit cold as it's got no heating.

I thought they did the rubber mounts not the metal brackets but worth a call.

I thought they did both? Worth giving them a ring either way I'd say. Maybe get a blower for it while you're at it biggrin

Anybody know id the mouns on the Taz are the same as those on a Griff/Chimaera? I know the chassis side of the engine mount is the same, so hopefully the block mounts are also the same?

Ta in advance

The Chassis are slightly different widths plus the engine is mounted further back on so may not be 100% the same, esp the the wedge ones was custom made from rover SD1 mounts, so there would have been no reason to make them the same, unless they made 1000's in advance, could you not look on your dad's car.

I've also asked Derek Beck, as he rebuilding is Griff engine.
