Alfie Boe. Tenor And Ex-TVR Apprentice.

Not a subject for everyone I'll grant you but Alfie Boe is a somewhat famous (in certain circles) tenor most recently seen in the 25th anniversary celebrations for 'Les Miserables' at the O2. Mrs F was working backstage and the Misses F were in the show so between us we spent a bit of time there during which I was told that he started out as an apprentice at Blackpool (circa 1990) where a customer heard him singing and suggested he audition for the D'Oyly Carte, an audition that he passed. According to Wikipedia he has never been able to thank the customer and I was wondering if anyone might know who it was? Long shot I know but I'm sure he'd be grateful.

No help on the question, but saw him on the Royal variety show, heck of a voice, good career move I would suggest.

He sang at a concert I was in a couple of years ago; he's a really nice guy and still loves TVRs.
