A friend has just got a job taking an HGV all over Europe to trade shows, and is after a Sat Nav that covers Europe, and avoids restrictions.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Well, to update this - we looked around at the various options, and all of them had several bad reviews.

We decided it would be easier at first to just update the maps to Europe on his regular car TomTom and add POI info for restrictions - and see how that works, rather than spending £250-350 on a unit that may be no better.

There are the dedicated units either the 7000 truck or the new 7100 truck pro

There's the 12 volt car TomTom and 24 volt truck issue though whistle

Do they not have 12v sockets for things like TomTom/Phone chargers?

Check the TomTom plug, some say 12 volt, some say 12/24 volt. A friend fried his TomTom in a rented Merc Atego which is why I thought it worth mentioning wink
