Rubbish signal from SKY dish?

Its the first time I've had SKY and during this snow it gets zero signal!

Very frustrating, I've had it over two weeks and its only worked for about half of it?

The dish was already installed when I moved in and is installed at the end of the garden, all of the cabling is in the wall.

Is this common of SKY?

Is the dish covered in snow, if so, throw a snow ball at it to remove the snow. Then try it.

The dish is clear of snow etc...

.... and I'm getting it in the ear because she wants to watch some Sunday morning cookery thing?!

is it pointing at a tree that is full of snow? If not then you need to check all of the connections on the LNB, make sure they are not full of water and froze up.
