Afternoon all,

I have been working for a shore based oil firm for the last 7 years originally as a mechanic.
(after 8 years as a car mechanic)
As time has gone on I became chargehand in our workshop and I have a few other roles including diving equip and RHIB maintenance/operation.
I am interested in getting a start offshore on rotation because at the moment winter is dead for me and I am away alot of the summer which isn't ideal with a young child, I also never really know when I am going away or coming home.
An example is the start of the year when I left on the 8th Jan for "2-3 weeks" and I was away for nearly 3 months.
Also when I come home from a trip I am straight back into the yard so don't have the benefit of some quality time at home which I would get with a rotation.
Anyway, I have registered with a local agency (I have my BOSIET2) but was told nothing was doing.
Some friends I know have put my CV into their HR depts but no luck so far.
Any ideas? I realise this is a bad time of year.
