After signing up yesterday and posting a couple of snow pics of my car and getting some nice comments about it I guess i'd better put some more pics and some information about it up.
Its a 1965 Morris Mini that i've rebuilt. It's been on the road 4 1/2 years now. I started with a brand new bodyshell from british motor heritage. Then proceeded to cut the front end off as I find it much easier to work on if you can remove it. So it has a carbon fibre front end and bonnet, fibreglass boot. Because the new shell is a later style, i've added the MK1 mini features like external hinges and rear lights. It's recently has new aluminium skinned doors with the MK1 sliding windows to complete the look except the colour doesn't quite match...
Engine wise it is A series still with a fast road spec. 1293cc a kent 286 cam, twin SU HS4's, electronic ignition (123 dizzy). Ported MG metro big valve head, straight cut drop gears and a straight cut close ratio gearbox.
For what it is (ie: no supercar) it's quite quick. 94bhp at the wheels, 16.4 quarter time and top speed of 115 achieved.
Well thats a little about it, now for a few photos.

looks great !
- but excuse my ignorance - if its a new bodyshell - how can it still be classed as a 65 car? I'm sure you haven't bolted loads of old parts back on to a new body shell if you're taking it on a track, so how much of it is actually from an original 1965 car?

the shell is a replaceable item just like any other part. if it wasn't BMH wouldn't sell them. it's still a 65 car as it's a brand new unused shell rather than using one which has already been assigned a reg which is illigal. There are old parts on it like the brakes for example. But at the end of the day most rebuilds use alot of new parts like the rear subframe for example as these don't last forever.- but excuse my ignorance - if its a new bodyshell - how can it still be classed as a 65 car? Yeah, the fronts are just some old standard 3.5inch steels with just some old cheap tyres on, much better than the normal 5inch wheels i run normally
