944 clutch release lever removal
Discussion
I'm trying to take the clutch cover off one of the partial engines I have for the 944, but I'm a bit stuck.
I know that I have to remove the clutch release lever shaft, but can't figure out how to do it. There appears to be a plug at one end, with an M8 threaded hole in it. A manual I have says to put an M8 bolt in here and pull it out (after first removing the locking screw, which I have done). However, the damn thing doesn't want to move.
Does anybody have a particular favourite trick or tool for this job?
Cheers
James

Screw in a 8mm bolt and use a slide hammer to pull it out. (machine mart do a dent pulling slide hammer for around £15 that will do the job)
They do get really stuck in the fork bearings and fork, but a few swift pulls from a slide hammer will see her out of there.
When you do the clutch, make sure you replace the fork bearings. Usually cleaning up the fork shaft is enough. remember to grease the fork shaft and the bearings.
