Digital SPDIF RCA to Analog RCA?
Discussion
I've got my eye on a TV but I'm having a problem...
I want to hook my TV up to my stereo but the only audio output on the TV is a digital SPDIF RCA.(apart from headphone jack which I don't want to use as it will mute the normal TV speakers and its a pain to put the stereo on every time you want to watch TV)
Now my stereo only has standard analog phono inputs, I've googled it and I've seen convertors that go the other other way (analog to digital) but does anybody know of a digital SPDIF RCA to analog convertor that doesn't involve me buying a new amp?
Could be a deal breaker for the TV...

You need a DAC (Digital to Analogue Converter).
They start a bit below £200.
Project DAC Box FL
Musical Fidelity V-DAC
Cambridge Audio DacMagic

Generally if the TV dosent have a red/whithe phono output for audio then it dosent have the monitor audio circuitry to go with it, basically this means a SCART-phono adapter wont work as there is no monitor audio out available at the SCART socket. What is monitor audio out? Well basically anything that is displayed on screen then its audio is made available, without it you can end up with the pic from Digital tuner and the audio from the Analogue tuner etc...
