Chap at work has a TV with built-in Freeview. He now wants a PVR to record programmes.

Does he need a recorder with built-in Freeview too, else how will the recorder get itself 'between' the decoded signal and the screen?

A PVR will have Freeview tuners built in, normally 2 so it can record 2 channels at once.

TV aerial goes from the wall into the PVR and then out of the PVR into the TV so the TV tuner still works too.

PVR then connects to the TV by SCART or HDMI depending on which one you get. (although I would recommend a humax)

Hope that helps...

It helped in every way. Many thanks.

I have since escorted him to suitable premises and ensured that he returned to the office with Humax in tow.
