I'd be far more interested in a list of Islamic anti troop and Islamic fundamentalists, as they seek to do real harm to the country.

Or is it just the patriots we out these days?

Pathetic.

So does shouting at an army guy make you less patriotic than some guy smashing up a shop?

I think it's the UAF who were vandalising property last time, easy to get confused with the two groups though considering it's the EDL who are supposed to be the ultra-thugs!

You cannot deny that EDL are chav, thugs and hooligans using the English flag as part of their identity.

That's bad...

But does it make them more patriotic or not?

Do you have to support this countries troops to be patriotic? If yes then can the same argument be thrown at those who abuse the police and civil servants that if you do not support them you are not patriotic?

Contrasts well with someone cloaking their activities behind a religion to undertake acts of violence right?
So they share very many similarities then and hence should be treated equally.

Er, no.

Although the EDL come across as idiotic football hooligan types, they are patriotic and supportive of the country they live in and that supports them.

When member of the EDL start flying planes into buildings, blowing up innocent people on the public transport and trying to kill Swedish shoppers, I might reconsider treating them equally to all the members of the "Religion of Peace".

Do many EDL types contribute society? Does terrorising a town centre seem like a very supportive act for their country? EDL does attack innocent people, it has threatened to become more physical and one day it might even have the capacity to do something really disturbing.

Why do you treat all ROP members the same?

I find it depressing that anyone would consider an extremist group focussed on creating divisions by antagonistically pursuing an ignorant & negative ideology as being an example of patriotism.

If the EDL represent what it is to be an English patriot then please consider me a traitor as I want no part of their bigotry and hate.

I don't know any EDL members so it's not easy for me to guess their contribution to society but if I was a gambling man, I'd be willing to bet that there's more of them working and contributing than the average Luton type ROP member biggrin

I have to say though, terrorising a town centre as you put it is not really the terrorism we are talking about, is it?
Both sides seem intent on winding each other up and to be perfectly frank, if you want to move to a country and take in all the benefits that brings, it's not really the done thing to actively protest against that country or else you have to expect some kind of backlash.
I don't really recall the EDL or UAF protesting in town centres until certain fine upstanding members of British society started their own demonstrations. Unless you can prove me wrong, that is?

As you rightly point out though, I'm sure one of the mindless thugs will one day escalate the whole shebang into something more serious.
I can't quite see them wearing a suicide vest to do it though.

Final point, I don't treat all people the same or tar them with the same brush. Only the criminals.

iirc the Treasury also have an economic sanctions list.

I think all the extremists are idiots, although it says something when those on this leaked list get all 'omg-we'll-lose-our-jobs-if-people-know-what-we're-into'

Personally i dont know any members so i'll reserve judgement.

However, they do seem to be peed off at most the right things.

About as much as the UAF are anti-fascist. The advantage the EDL have is that they are not the puppets of cynical unions playing out their political agenda and funding ethnic violence with union dues.
