Look bloody good!

Very tempted but the temperamental auto box on mine needs money thrown at it before new rims

Hiya
Yep, the op on the bimmerforums I've met a couple of times and in turn, he was posting on that website after the actual owner of the car shown put the wheels on and displayed the pictures on BMW5.co.uk !
The E60 Spiders do indeed look good on the E39 and are a very nice choice for those wanting to only put 'oem' style wheels on their cars
.. makes a change from the sea of those wanting/having M Parallels on!
Cheers, Dennis!

A question to both of you as Richterswil has an E60 and I think Dennis is a well connected 5'er so I'm sure he's driven one
How does the E60 compare to the E39? I totally love my E39 but having been driven in an E60, I was VERY impressed. A quick look around the classifieds is revealing some "higher" milers for under the 10K mark

I love my E60 as you love your E39. I've never owned an E39 (couple of 3 series before moving to a 5) although I have driven a 528i fairly frequently and a 540i occasionally (old colleagues cars).

Without driving them back to back it is difficult to compare. Overall as you might expect, the E60 does feel a generation newer to me - just a little sharper in the handling department. That said, the ride of an E39 is better than my E60 (the smaller wheels make a big difference) even though mine is not running on RFTs.
There is definately more poke in the newer engines of the E60.
I've found build quality to be excellent although if pushed I'd concede the E39 feels a touch better in that department - little things like nicer door handles and so on.
Try one but if you have an E39 you are happy with which is unlikely to lose any value to speak of then think hard before changing.
