It looks like it. If the frame is bent at all its probably for the best. If you dont think you have been give a good price, get adverts for same age, miles, spec showing a higher price and show them as evidance that the car is worth more.

If the front arm piller etc is not bent you could pay to get it back and have a new hobby. If you get the parts second hand and do most of the work your self?

Hope the new year is better for you. Happy Cristmas

looks like an easy fix there, done a few minis like that and they are surprisingly easy to sort, helps that I produce light weight panels for the mini too smile Normally the front arm will be crushed but you can get the crash arm replacement. Looks like about a cost of £1k - £2k fix. What salvage cost have they given you to buy it back? I know someone who may be interested...

First thing is to find the value of your car and be prepared to fight for it, car like that is going to cost IMO £7K or around that figure to replace, make sure when looking at prices you use only BMW cherished prices as find a true cost to replace it as close to 100% as you can.

The scrap value of the car is generally as a rule of thumb payout - repair cost. You will be able to take the car back as part settlement so if they offer 7 and the repair is 4.5 the cost of the car is 2.5 so if you buy the car back you can expect to get something arranged like that. CAT D is no issue to put back on the road and is quite easy to do.

I personally think the repair costs they have given you are in excess of twice the cost you could have it repaired at with an intendant which is normal so you could get the car fixed and have money in your pocket if you wanted too.

Just decide what you want to do, the car will sell quite well even in that state

even if you gave them the paperwork, you still need to replace the car and the deal is not there any more. you just want another mini of the same special, miles... its going to cost you 7K to replace it. END

Why do people get the Auto Dim Mirror then have the windows tinted (Privacy Glass)?

You do it for the nobs with incorrect bulbs and hid kit, its there to reduce glare which the tint does, if your still being blinded then this helps, that is why people have it. I have auto dim and tints on all my cars and it dims when it get glare so it works + cost next to nothing, clearly you don't have one! You off topic here, take it elsewhere

Well I can tell you from personal experience.

Series 2a, recently rebuilt but different coloured panels from different vehicles. Builders truck couldn't stop, I could and stuck mine down into ditch but he still came piling in to me!!

Vehicle was worth about £600 to £700 at the time, insurance company said uneconomical repair so write off. I said bog off, worth more to me than pure monetary value, accident not my fault, you MUST repair as its not cat A or B damage. Total repair bill came to over £2500.

This piece of legislation ties into the bit of your post that i've highlighted. If they had given me the vehicle value, then I would have had to add to it to get an equivilent vehicle so would have been out of pocket.

Incidentally this claim went to court as the other drivers story was the opposite of mine, to the point of claiming that I was doing in excess of 70mph and that i skidded sideways down the road to impact with him as he had stopped!! (in a 1969 2a diesel!!)

In summing up the Judge (as well as finding in my favour) made a point of stating the legislation and asking if I had had my vehicle reinstated to the same condition, when I replied that I had he said "good, because otherwise I would make a substantial financial penalty against the insurers for not doing it!!"
