Loss of EXIF data when converting to jpg

How can I prevent the exif data from being lost when I convert a file from TIFF to jpg?

I am using (at various times) UFRAW, GIMP and Nikon View NX2.

No idea what that means!

There may be a setting that keeps/removes it (at least Capture One Pro does) - have a poke about.

I guess there should be one in GIMP - but not found it yet!

I use GIMP 2 and it always preserves EXIF data. Are you using the latest version?

What steps do you go through from opening a TIFF in GIMP to saving/converting to a JPG?

Sorry, I didn't read your post properly.

I just tried testing this. I started by creating a TIFF from a JPEG (I didn't have any TIFFs), but it wiped the JPEG's EXIF data before I had a chance to do the real test.

If you open the 'Advanced Options' when you do 'Save As' for a TIFF, there's an option to 'Save EXIF Data', but it's greyed out. Can you see that option when you go from a TIFF to JPEG?

I take a tiff and then choose save as -

Sorry, I was using 'Save a Copy'.

So do File / Save a Copy / Save and then you can see +Advanced Options, click on the plus sign to see the options.

tried that - there's no +Advanced options......
