Looks like I may need a new screen on the chim'
and I'm covered by Autoglass's guarantee
They reckon they've done TVR's before and it will
only take a couple of hours
guess I just need a bit of reassurance

Not quite the same, but they did the glass on my 15 year old, special special edition Subaru perfectly. Not a TVR, but I have no complaints on the replacements they did. And that car's even rarer than chims.

Take some pics of the leather/interior around the screen area, as well as the paintwork...... these are the areas which are prone to be damaged and the most expensive to get rectified (especially the interior trim... only needs a slip of knife/glass removal tool).

Hopefully all goes ok and the pic taking is waste of time

They replaced my Chimaeras windscreen about 18 months ago and i have had no problems with it.

I took mine there after a few other TVR owners gave me good reports for the Luton branch. When i went they had limited slots for replacing it as they only had 1 member of staff who had experience of replacing TVR windscreens and that was the only person they would want to work on it.

I had concerns about the leather trim around the inside, but they dont use a knife to cut out the old windscreen, they use a 'cheese wire' so it limits the risk of damage.

They managed to reuse the trim from my old windscreen which gives a better result than new trim as it is shaped.

Hi, I had my windscreen replaced on my Griffith 500SE by Autoglass in Chichester this time last year, and they did a first class job. I had wanted it done by a TVR specialist but after going to see AGlass I saw no reason not to use them and I was right.
