Seems my recent slide into the kerb is going to cost me about £100, which is considerably cheaper than the excess I would lose for hitting a car instead

Is there any worthwhile scrap value in a steel mondeo wheel ? - glad that did not have alloys fitted smile

Steel is currently £155 per ton. I'd say your wheel may be 12kgs therefore may be worth £1.86. Don't spend it all at once!

The scrap metal merchant in my neck of the woods will give you around £8 for an ALLOY wheel to weigh in. More for very large diameters eg 19".

What about a set of suspension dampers then? Does £££ await?

Can the wheel be bent back?

think it is a sideways bend to it, plus rippling at the tyre / wheel area...

hoping that the tyre is ok, if not will put it down as a puncture and claim off fleet hire smile

fleet advised me to do it this way, quicker for sure and cheaper than the excess, got a nagging feeling that it was an off the record recommendation, but not sure on that
