I ordered a sender unit from david gerald TVR a little while ago...It cost £44.50+vat+carriage=£61.69..TB9013-kit

There is a slight difference in the electrical fitting but im not sure if that is a major issue but the price leaves alot to be desired..Ah,,for a TVR sir thatll be an extra £30 please,,,Maybe its for the adjustable arm?..probably made by heineken...Reaching parts that no other sender can..

I'm not denying that there can be a "TVR tax" but I'd have a guess David Gerald only supply half a dozen of those units a year, while Mini spares people sell hundreds, hence they can buy things in cheaper than David Gerald, apply the same % markup and still sell cheaper than David Gerald.
Compare these identical LED Lights...

Demon Tweeks £19.95
RS
1off £9.96
5off £9.00
20off £7.40
50off £6.53
100off £5.88
(no prizes for guessing where I buy my rain light from!)
The more you buy the cheaper you can sell, I think a lot of the time the likes of David Gerald just dont have the buying power of some specialists suppliers for other brands of car

Yep....used to be a grocery rep in my mis-spent youth.

Corner shop buys 2 cases of baked beans at 'A' rate and sells at 20% profit margin.

Superstore (minimum) 200 cases at 'X' rate. 5% profit margin.

If you can get them for a tenner at RS they must be available cheaper elsewhere, they are the biggest mark-up merchants in the country.
