Old IWC is it anything interesting

Long time lurker in this forum and first time poster. Up at mum and dads for christmas and Dad mentioned an old watch that his father had. He reckons its from about the 70's. Looks to be on an Omega bracelet? Does anybody know if it's actually worth anything? Cheers.

Here's one that looks like yours but has been cleaned and polished. It actually comes up really nice and the brown croc strap suits it well. Mind you the ad looks well dodgy!

Here's a lovely version that's been refurbed by IWC with new glass, dial and strap all for HK$5900 and asking US$3650 a year ago.

The HK$ numbers look huge but when you consider that all that work was done for about £500, and the watch is for sale for about £300 - bargain!

The ad says US$3650 not HK$ although the work was done in HK$, a bit confusing and less of a bargain but a lovely watch. The IWC movement inside is considered one of their greatest apparently.
