AA Parts insurance - result!
Discussion
Had a problem with the Chim "running rough", and had to be low loaded to Raciung Green. After a lot of diagnostics, they established that the AFM had blown, probably sent an electrical spike and blew the ECU and a relay. The "negotiated" bill come to £940 (had a couple of other bits seen to whilst it was there, and thats another story).
A few weeks later, i remembered i had spent £120 on an AA insurance thingummyjig for parts which "break" on any of my cars, so sent the invoice and a nice letter to the AA Man. They told me that a condition of this insurance is that they have the right to inspect the car before any work is carried out, but they will "look into it". Hmm, an insurance company looking for a wriggle out? That, i thought, would be the end of that.
Just had a call from them, a cheque for £475 (max claim less £25 excess) is on its way to me.
Not a moment too soon either. It now means that the children may have a modest chicken for christmas lunch, and a nicely wrapped cardboard box to play with.
Waitrose here i come!

Thanks Neil. The turkey is nestled up in the frige. Just had to get ALL of the other stuff.
Dear God, why was baby Jesus born so close to year-end?
At least you get a better class of shoplifter at Waitrose

Merry Christmas to you all
Make sure you call the AA out and all is good. Car running rough and garage think they know but need to pull it apart first?
Drive off to local shops, call AA, drink coffee while you wait for them to arrive, scratch chin and suck teeth and low load you back to the original garage.
job's jobbed....
