Bought some on a whim today (looked too good to ignore) but what to do with it?

I'd like to use it as part of an evening meal rather than breakfast, any ideas?

Stuff some chicken breasts with it, roast in oven and serve with a whiskey sauce. Then enjoy.

Poached with a mustard sauce?
With Scallops (think there are pics in the Show us your dinner thread)
Also nice added to a hotpot.

As above, make up a little cauliflower puree, then daub three blobs on each plate, slice of black pudding on each blob, scallop on each slice. Yum.

Put some fennel seeds in some melted butter and let then soften for a hour or so. Fry some sliced leeks in the butter and when they are soft add some cream and a stock cube.

Put a few slices of black pudding on it.

This works very well with Salmon too.

Poached ...
Doesn't it just disintegrate? I love black pud but I only ever have it fried for breakfast although during Masterchef it was put with scallops by everybody so I guess it must be good, still fried though. Does it really poach?

Rich, not made it myself, but had it in a pub a few years ago. (I wonder if it was wrapped in cling film?)
It's quite popular to serve black pud on a buffet round here.
Anyway I think I'll add black pudding to my shopping list lick

43 , Tried it at 18 without knowing , thought it was some sort of beefburger , I complained it tasted 'off' . Then I was informed what it was . I have never been able to contemplate eating it since. Not on any sort of religious grounds , just pure taste and decency ( or lack of )

Even though I know what goes into a Haggis , I have tried some , although I'm in no rush to go out and buy some it was palatable. When in Rome , or Scotland as the case may be yuck
